The Socré Nebbiolo Langhe DOC Is One Of Italy’s Top Wines
Italian wines will always have a place in the hearts of wine lovers. There are so many great vineyards that it would take a lifetime to sample everything that they have to offer. One such vineyard is Socré which has been the place that the Piacentino Family has been making wines since 1869. The wonderful in full vines provide dedicate grapes that allow for the production of deep and elegant wines.
One of our favorite wines from Socré is the Nebbiolo Langhe DOC. Nebbiolo means the “Grape of the Frog.” This wine will definitely have you jumping around. It is 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Barbera. The Nebbiolo grape has super thick skin providing for a well-rounded flavor. There is wood smoke, violets, rose, and dense flowers in the smell. Upon the first sip, you should be able to grasp the taste of cherry, cranberry, clove, and vanilla. All of this makes for an excellent wine at an awesome price. We were able to get a bottle for under $30.
